Think Twice about Accidental Death Life Insurance, Too
Last time we discussed why flight insurance probably doesn’t make sense. The same logic applies to accidental death life insurance as well. Major catastrophes, like auto accidents and fires, are usually covered under standard policies. The risk of dying in another type of catastrophe is very small and even if you do, many policies carry stipulations that make collecting on the insurance very difficult.
Plus, if you are injured or killed at work, your employer’s policy will cover you and so should a standard life insurance policy.
Accident-only life insurance policies are much cheaper than standard policies but a standard policy is almost always a much better buy.
