Protect Yourself with Remote Data Deletion
More and more people use their cell phones to make financial transactions, check bank account balances, and transfer funds, but what happens if you lose your cell phone? Some cell phone providers and third-party services allow remote data deletion: If your phone is lost or stolen, you can use the service to automatically delete all private data stored on the phone. Services vary: Some allow you to call an operator who will trigger the deletion, others allow you to spend a specific text to your phone that triggers the deletion, and some even automatically delete data if too many invalid password attempts are made.
So while you may lose the data on your phone… at least it won't be available to others. Check with your cell phone provider for more information or search for providers using terms like "remote cell phone data deletion."
